Beautiful Port Royal

Beautiful Port Royal

Along the beaches and sparkling blue waters of the great Atlantic and under the centuries old towering live oaks in the coastal community of Port Royal lives a unique history. Originally, this was the site where for hundreds of years Native Americans hunted and gathered seafood.

At the start of the Civil War, the present Port Royal was occupied by Confederate forces. Then in the Battle of Port Royal in 1861, the Confederate troops were defeated and 13,000 Union troops landed to take control of the island.

Today a spectacular Southern charm awaits you.  Located on the northwestern point of Hilton Head Island, this golf and tennis community offers a luxurious oceanfront and beach club.

Its high elevation gives homeowners incredible views of the waters of Port Royal Sound and the deep blue Atlantic beyond.  Here you will be surrounded by the tranquil sounds of nature and the beauty of tropical palms, manicured golf courses, saltwater estuaries and fresh-water lagoons.

If you enjoy quiet walks along white sandy beaches, this is the place for you.  You will have access to both the Atlantic and Port Royal Sound beaches and waterways and miles of trails and pathways. You will pass by historical sites such as the Steam Gun located at the end of Fort Walker Drive or Fort Sherman with entrances on Sherman Place and Sherman Drive. There’s a Lowcountry-style Beach House for functions and gatherings as well as stretches of pristine beaches fronting the great Atlantic and the Port Royal Sound.

For those who wish to be more active, there is swimming, kayaking, golf, boating and fishing. Friendships are made with neighbors who often gather at the club for an evening drink or dinner.

Award-Winning Golf  – Nestled along the Atlantic coastline, Port Royal Golf Club, named one of the “Top 10 Exotic” Golf Courses in the world by World Property Channel and one of the “Top 75 U.S.  Golf Resorts” by Golf Digest magazine, is located on the northwestern point of Hilton Head Island.

Swimming – relax and enjoy the two oceanfront pools.
