Mother Son Game Night - May 6th

Calling all mothers/mother figures and sons to The Island Rec Mother Son Night! Enjoy a fun game night with your favorite little man. Snacks will be served. DJ Jeff Taylor will be spinning tunes. Board game challenges, yard games (giant pong, GAGA BALL, nine square), and other activities provided by Extreme Firehouse. Don’t forget about the ultimate dodgeball game between mothers and sons!

Pedal Hilton Head - May 7th

Pedal is a charity recreational ride, not a race! Each route/pace group will have ride ambassadors to assist with pacing, entry into the gated communities, and safe navigation around the island. Offering 6 scenic routes for all levels of riders!

2023 Bluffton Mayfest - May 13th

Also referred to as the Bluffton Village Festival, Mayfest is the top annual event in Bluffton, South Carolina. Why is this annual festival ranked as the best annual event in Bluffton? Because it’s the most rocking event in Bluffton! Starting back almost a thousand years ago (okay, 44 years ago) this annual event has grown to become the staple of the community for annual events.

Bluffton Sunset Kick Off & Earth Day Celebration - May 21st

Enjoy live music, beer garden, wine bar, food court and more under the Live Oaks at Bluffton Oyster Factory Park overlooking the May River. 2 live bands featuring Jupiter Coyote and Special Guest – The Minks. Party with your pooch. Low profile Lawn Chairs and leashed pets are permitted.

Mindful Triathlon - May 21st

What is the Mindful Triathlon? Its a FUN 5K your way – run or walk – just make it to the finish line. Followed by a 45 minute Yoga on the beach where you are certain to find your flow oceanside. And finally, a 15 minute guided meditation and gong experience that will clear your mind, relax your body, and complete the mindful triathlon.

Hilton Head Freedom 5K - May 29th

Palmetto Running Company presents the 8th annual Hilton Head Freedom 5K run & walk held on Memorial Day, May 29th, 2023 at beautiful Port Royal Plantation on Hilton Head Island. The Freedom 5K is a great opportunity to honor those among us who have served in the armed forces with a fun, family friendly event. Run with the American flag, dress in your patriotic best Red, White & Blue maybe you’ll win the most patriotic runner award. Enjoy one of the most scenic courses on Hilton Head. A portion of the race proceeds and 100% of all donations will go directly to the Semper Fi & America’s Fund.

Hilton Head Island Art Festival - May 27th

This two-day outdoor art festival in the common area will be set up around the marina shops and restaurants. The festival is being coordinated by Lynn Alexander of Nash Gallery and will feature a wide selection of beautiful art including pottery, glass, wood, jewelry, etc.— All made in the USA! Guests will also enjoy casual dining, music and shopping all weekend long at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina. Admission to the festival is free and open to the public rain or shine. Summer Jams + Fireworks - June 2023

The Island Recreation Association is proud to bring you a fun-filled, festive atmosphere with the highlight of the night fireworks which start around 9 pm. Kids of all ages can enjoy inflatable bounce houses and face painting for a minimal fee. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the fireworks! Every Tuesday from June 13 – August 15!
