Get to know Stephen
I’m a true Island Native – Born and Raised on Hilton Head. I love the Low Country and all things it has to offer. I am a Clemson Alum & I have been writing Mortgage Loans since 2012 for the Hilton Head & 
Bluffton area. I married my high school sweet heart in 2012 and we now have 2 wild and crazy boys (Merrick & Wake) ages 2.5 & 1.5. Yes I know that’s “a lot” but we love the crazy!
What type of loans do you specialize in?
With over 500 loan products and 100 investors, I think it’s safe to say we have just about everything on the menu here at Mortgage Network. My clients range from 1st time home buyers, to million-dollar 2nd homes, to investors looking to buy the ideal short-term or long-term rental. I am extremely well versed in many products that can make just about any scenario come to fruition. Conventional, Government, or Jumbo loans – It is my goal to make sure my client’s financing goals are not only met but exceeds their expectations. I am not seeking a transaction, but a life-long relationship with my clients. Our relationship does not end at the closing table. We are not just quoting rates like our competitors, we are providing mortgage planning to ensure our clients receive the best mortgage that fits their goals both in the long term and short term.

What is the most important thing people need to know about the lending process?
It’s hard… there is unimaginable paperwork … and if you think it’s as easy as “the click of a button,” you are wrong! This is why it is so important to work with a lender you can trust, who communicates with
you, and you have direct access to locally. Typing your information into a website in hopes of it spitting out $350,000 of debt without ever speaking to anyone about your options sounds like a bad idea to me. You are about to make one of the biggest purchases and financial decision of your life, why would you do that with someone online (who you have no idea where they are or who they are) or a bank that sells checking accounts, credit cards, and dabbles in the mortgage world. When making a decision or a financial move like this, you want to know what you’re getting into and you want to work with the best. That’s me, that’s Mortgage Network.
How did you come to team up with Herman & Davis Properties?
Becky and Monica have one of the best Real Estate Teams in this area. Put simply, the goals for our clients matched up as we both put the client first and provide them with the highest level of service. What do you do in your free time on Hilton Head?
When I’m not working I’m spending time with my bride and my two boys. We love to spend time on the
water together. My boys have pluff mudd between their toes and salt water in their veins. If you live here, you HAVE to take advantage our water – it is amazing.
